SSAFA are contracted by the MOD to provide a welfare service, known as the RAF Personal Support and Social Work Service, to serving RAF personnel and their families throughout the UK. They are a confidential service and independent from the chain of command.
They may be able to help with inquires from RAF personnel and can offer support and advice with many welfare issues including mental health, military life including deployments and postings, housing, money worries, relationships and family support.
Who can get support?
RAF PS&SWS are there for the whole RAF family; for the person behind the uniform and their loved ones. We will support all serving personnel in the RAF, whether they are a regular or reserve, and their eligible family members including spouses and partners wherever they are based.
Who are we?
RAF PS&SWS is made up of a team of Welfare Officers, who are managed by social workers, who are dedicated to helping the RAF community. Our service has been running since 1990, giving us over 30 years of expertise and experience.

The service is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, via our Digital Welfare Hub which incorporates a confidential signposting service during working hours and an out-of-hour support service.
