What support is offered?
SSAFA's Stepping Stone home provides a comfortable, secure and female-only place to stay for up to 18 months. From our clean and well-maintained communal spaces and garden to private areas for each resident to make their own, we want our guests to feel like they are in a home from home.
Our experienced Stepping Stone home staff are ready to make the stay as relaxing and comfortable as possible, and are constantly on hand to provide someone to listen to your worries, or provide advice and guidance - whether you plan to move on or reconcile your previous relationship.
There are three members of experienced staff that are on hand situated within the home, providing emotional/practical support, advice and guidance on a range of areas; housing, benefits, education, employment, wellbeing and immigration.
Who can get support?
· Those facing/experiencing domestic abuse, marital separation or homelessness
· Wives/Partners of currently serving personnel
· Wives/Partners of veterans
· Female Veterans
· Daughters (over 18) of serving personnel and veterans
· Inclusive of Non-UK Citizens (eligible to apply for Leave to Remain)
Who are we?
A small team who are dedicated to helping and supporting the Armed Forces Community. Our service has been running since 1996, giving us 30 years of expertise and experience. The team are also trained caseworkers therefore are able to complete Applications for Assistance for the residents of the home.
Where are we?
Due to the sensitive nature of the home, the exact location can not be advertised. The home is situated in the Greater London area, however where the beneficiary is currently located or where they wish to move to does not affect eligibility or support offered.
