Listed on Mosaic as 'TRBL Central Grants Team'
TRBL is one of the major Assistance Providers for our clients. For details on their remit of support please refer to the TRBL Guide to Grants.
TRBL offers a wide variety of services some of which are not offered by SSAFA. For full information please refer to the website or call the helpline which provides advice and information to all members of the Armed Forces, past and present, including their families.
It can provide information on war disablement pensions, war widows or widower's pension, compensation claims against the MOD for personal injury caused by negligence, disability, independent inquest advice, grants and loans, care and welfare breaks, Poppy calls, resettlement and learning and work.
When TRBL pledge a deposit to a SSAFA Client the Caseworker should make them aware of the fact that these monies do not belong to them and need to be returned should they move.
Should you as the Caseworker or the Client face difficulties registering TRBL as the Lead Tenant on the deposit via one of the three schemes, please contact TRBL Central Grants Team marking the email ‘Urgent’ if it is a time sensitive issue [email protected]
“Any rental deposit RBL awards a grant towards is solely for the purpose the grant was awarded and is to be returned to RBL if not used or if the Deposit Protection Scheme (DPS) is unclaimed. Grants awarded for rental deposits must be entered in to the Deposit Protection Scheme with RBL named as the lead tenant. Being named as lead tenant on the DPS does not mean RBL is named on any tenancy agreement. The two are separate from each other and on the DPS means the funds are returned to RBL if not claimed for arrears/damages on tenancy’s ending."
Should a beneficiary leave a tenancy and require funding for a new property, this will require a new Form A case and request to "TRBL Central Grants Team" in Mosaic
They will support with funeral costs for a Veteran or alternatively support a Veteran with the funeral costs for his spouse/partner, but please be aware that their charter does not allow them to support a non-eligible beneficiary in covering the costs of the partner/spouse of a deceased Veteran e.g. Mr Smith the Veteran is already deceased, then his wife Mrs Smith dies – their adult daughter requests support with funeral costs for Mrs Smith based on her Fathers VoS and the fact that the case is for the support of a deceased eligible person, TRBL will not support Mrs Smith’s daughter.
Every AP is different and in this situation for an Army case, some Regimental Benevolence funds may support (they did in this one) and the ABF will support.
