Today some 300 army veterans call the Royal Hospital Chelsea home. The Hospital offers independent living in a sheltered housing environment intended for those who, upon admission, are self-caring and able to live independently with extra support where required but without the need for nursing care. We do offer nursing care, but the Royal Hospital cannot accept direct entries to the nursing wards as space is limited and, priority is given to our existing residents. Chelsea Pensioners can also access onsite therapy services (Occupational Therapy & Physiotherapy) as well as a comprehensive activities programme which involves both onsite and external events & activities.
