ADMST makes grants to people in financial need who have/had a child-parent relationship with a member/former member of the RAF. From 12 September 2024 the RAFBF will administer the Trust.

Applicants can be biological or adoptive children (including those adopted in fact but not in law) or someone for whose upbringing a member/former member of the RAF took responsibility.

There is no age restriction. ADMST can help adults as well as children, provided the applicant has/had a child-parent relationship with a member/former member the RAF.

Grants are not limited to education but are given for a wide range of welfare needs. 

Examples of grants awarded are:

  • school fees where the needs of the child cannot be fulfilled in the state system, for example due to the child’s physical or mental health, or the child’s particular sporting or artistic talents lessons for children with particular sporting or artistic talents
  • lessons, or treatment for those with physical or learning disabilities who would benefit from more support than the state can provide
  • school uniform, books, laptops, school trips, musical instruments, sports or other equipment
  • tertiary education
  • daycare and pre-school education
  • other general welfare needs, e.g., clothing, furniture, holidays, and aids to gaining employment including driving lessons
