Eligibility

Served in the RAF or RAF reserves and be able to provide Verification of Service

An ex-spouse or ex-long term partner is eligible for support if they were a partner/spouse of the eligible person at the time of their service but not if it pre-dates or post-dates it.

An ex-spouse or ex-long term partner is not eligible if they enter a new relationship. Should that relationship fail due to death, divorce or separation then they will once again become eligible.

Children up to the age of 18 belonging to an eligible Veteran remain eligible for support regardless of their parents’ relationship status, although the identified need must relate directly to the children e.g. school uniform costs and each case will be assessed on a case by case basis (call the grants team to discuss prior to Caseworking).

Current Serving RAF Personnel who require support should contact their Welfare unit. Please refer to this page of the RAFBF website for guidance in relation to direct support under £750 from the Lightning Reach portal or by use of the Form B
