SSAFA ID cards are not compulsory but can be ordered by volunteers if required. For Events volunteers and Occasional Volunteers, ID cards are not issued due to the nature of these roles. In-date, volunteer ID cards reassure beneficiaries, and others by distinguishing card holders as legitimate SSAFA representatives.
How to order a new or replacement ID card
- Attach an uptodate head and shoulders (passport style) photo of yourself to an email.
- Enter "ID card request" into email subject title.
- Send email to the Volunteer Experience Support team at [email protected] or you can send it via your GoAssemble Message Centre.
- Once ordered, ID cards can take 2-3 weeks to be printed and then sent directly to your home address.
- All volunteer ID cards are valid for three years from the date of issue and must be renewed thereafter.
If you are unsure whether an ID card is required for your role then please check with your Volunteer Manager.
New and updated cards will only be issued to volunteers who meet the requirements for their role, for example, training and vetting requirements.
ID cards should always be returned and/or destroyed at the point of leaving SSAFA.
