How to - Send Teams Meeting Invites to and from Go Assemble Accounts

Updated on

Go Assemble does not support the function of sending Teams meeting invites via the Go Assemble messaging service. Assemble does not support the calendar file that is attached to a Teams invite email and it is this file that some modern email clients will recognise to display the event time and date, as the Assemble message centre is not designed to be used as an email service this will not integrate.

Therefore there are two methods for sending invites to or from a Go Assemble address.

Sending to a GoAssemble Address from a SSAFA365 account

If you are sending a meeting invite to a Go Assemble email address, ensure you include the date or time within your meeting title or description. The Teams link can be sent within the body of the email.

Sending from a GoAssemble Address

Create an event within Go Assemble which would then allow you to set the date and time for volunteers to see and provide the Teams link for the meeting as an online location.

  1. Within Go Assemble, click new event.

2. Set the time and date of the event.

3. Navigate to Microsoft teams from your personal device to create the event. In Microsoft Teams, find the calendar and click "new event". The below window will open where you can input the event details.

4. Click "copy hyperlink".

5. Paste the link into the location of the Assemble meeting.

6. Complete setup of your Go Assemble event.
