Dear colleagues,

Focus: NDP rollout progress update

As we enter the second quarter of 2026, we would like to share the latest progress on the Network Delivery Project (NDP) rollout. We are grateful for everyone’s support and engagement as these transitions continue to move forward.

Current rollout status

As of today, 62% of the total rollout is now complete. This milestone has been reached through the steady integration of several regions into the NDP model earlier this year:

  • South West: The migration of seven branches was completed in early March.
  • North East: The migration of eight branches was completed at the end of March.
  • North West: We are currently at the mid-point of migrating the six branches in this region, with the process expected to complete by 1 May.

Upcoming phases: Scotland, NI, ROI, and Overseas

  • Scotland: Briefings for our Scottish colleagues are now complete, and the essential preparation phase is well underway for the 17 branches. Migration is scheduled to begin on 20 April and is expected to finish by 19 June.
  • NI, ROI, and Overseas: Throughout this month, we are briefing branch executives and relevant stakeholders. These sessions ensure that local leadership teams are informed before we begin the wider briefing process for all volunteers in these areas.

For volunteers in Scotland: What can I do to prepare?

In Scotland, the Regional Office team has arranged virtual drop-in sessions specifically for caseworkers. These sessions provide another chance for caseworkers to learn more about how the NDP model supports your role, and to address any questions you may have. You should have already received invitations. The first session was conducted yesterday evening, with two further opportunities still available (details below). If you missed the invitation, please reach out to your Regional Casework Manager.

  • Thursday, 9 April: 1000-1130
  • Saturday, 18 April: 1500-1630

The NDP Information Hub on the Volunteer Knowledgebase also has useful guidance for branch chairs, secretaries and treasurers, along with information for all volunteers on migrating to GoAssemble.

Additionally, every volunteer in Scotland will receive email updates at set points during transition – four weeks, two weeks and one day prior to your branch’s migration into NDP and onto GoAssemble, our Volunteer Management System. Those affected by Office (O)365 closures will also receive an additional two-week reminder, before their account is closed.

Thank you to all colleagues for your continued commitment to SSAFA and to supporting our beneficiaries, as we work towards the final stages of the NDP rollout.

Where can I get more information?

The NDP Frequently Asked Questions document covers a range of topics addressing questions raised during and since the trials.

The Volunteer Knowledgebase is accessible to all volunteers and employees and contains detailed information on processes and procedures for all volunteer activities.

The Vision for Community Engagement in Branches document was developed following feedback from across the network and outlines the approach for increasing our reach, promoting understanding of our work, and building resilience.

NDP Information Hub on SSAFAnet and the NDP Information Hub on the Volunteer Knowledgebase both provide a variety of information on NDP – including caseworker and community engagement feedback videos, Town Hall presentations, transition guidance and copies of past updates in 2026 and in 2025.

If you have further questions, please contact the NDP Project team: [email protected].

Many thanks,

Kett McAfee, Welfare Operations Project Manager
