8 Jun 2026: Regional Recruitment Volunteer (RRV) trial phase in South West and Scotland

Updated on

The below information was sent via email to all volunteers in South West and Scotland at the time on 8 June 2026.

To: all volunteers in South West and Scotland

We wanted to share a quick update and friendly reminder about the pilot of the Regional Recruitment Volunteer (RRV) role, which is currently underway across the South West region and Scotland and will run until the end of July 2026.

This role has been introduced to provide practical support to local branches with their volunteer recruitment. It focuses on managing initial enquiries, reviewing applications, and collaborating closely with branches to help bring new Community Engagement Volunteers (CEVs) on board smoothly.

As this is a pilot phase, we are using this time to see how the role works in practice for volunteers and to make sure it’s providing real, meaningful support to our local branches.

We’ve received a few initial questions regarding the trial and want to share these clarifications with everyone:

1. Do I need to live in the region?

Yes. The role involves opportunities to meet directly with regional and branch teams, so being based locally is a requirement.

2. Can I apply if I am already undertaking another role?

Yes. However, please note that as this is a trial, we are still assessing what the precise time commitment will look like for volunteers day-to-day.

3. What training will I get?

A specific training pathway is currently being developed for this role. Ongoing support will be provided locally by the region’s community engagement manager.
