Migration preparation to caseworkers and visitors

Updated on

This email will be sent to all caseworkers and visitors within a region to explain how they can stay connected with their branch as the region transitions to the NDP model. It will be sent to their primary email addresses in our system approximately two months before migration, after the NDP briefing sessions for volunteers have been completed.

Subject: Network Delivery Project (NDP) Migration Preparation: Staying connected to your branch

Dear Volunteers,

As you are aware, your region will soon be transitioning into the NDP model of working and this will mean that your casework activities will move from being managed by your branch to being managed by the Regional Office (RO).

Your branch provides a local community that we encourage you to remain a part of. There are two ways in which you can do this.

Become a Community Engagement Volunteer (CEV)

If you currently participate in, or would like to start participating in, community engagement activities organised by your branch, but don’t hold an additional branch role, we can set you up as a CEV, in addition to your caseworker/visitor role, during the migration process.

Please let us know if you would like the CEV role adding to your GoAssemble profile by completing this form. This role will then be added during the week of migration. By taking on the additional role of CEV you will be able to support your branch in any community engagement activities they run. The CEV role description is purposefully broad to provide you with the flexibility to participate in community engagement activities in a way that suits you.

If you currently hold a branch role, for example helper, recruitment coordinator etc, you will automatically be set up with the CEV role during migration and therefore don’t need to complete the form above. In the CEV role you will be able to carry on with your usual volunteer activities as you do now, just under the broad CEV role title.

All casework activities, expenses and support will continue to be managed by the RO. All CEV activities, expenses and support will be managed by the branch.

Belonging via a Branch Connection

If you do not wish to commit to taking on the additional CEV role, rest assured, you can still remain part of your branch on a social level with a Branch Connection. All caseworkers and visitors are automatically set up with a Branch Connection during the migration process.

You will see this ‘Branch Connection’ on your GoAssemble record under the ‘Roles and Responsibilities’ tab of your user profile. Please note, having a ‘Branch Connection’ is not an additional volunteer role and comes with no additional responsibilities. It is a way to link you in with your local branch so you can receive invites to their local events and activities through GoAssemble.

You can read more about the Branch Connection on the Volunteer Knowledgebase.

If you’re unsure, don’t worry, you can always add or remove the CEV role or the Branch Connection after migration. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me, name, your region’s Volunteer Development Manager, at email - I’ll be happy to support you.

Kind Regards,

Volunteer Development Manager & the NDP Team
