The below information was sent, via email to all volunteers and staff across SSAFA, on 25 September 2025.
To: all volunteers, employees, trustees
Dear colleagues,
Focus: how the Volunteer Knowledgebase can support you
The Network Delivery Project (NDP) has brought in many improvements and identified information gaps for all colleagues - volunteers and employees alike, not just those within the NDP regions.
To help bridge those gaps, the relevant information is available on the Volunteer Knowledgebase - your one-stop hub for resources and guidance. Please do explore it, bookmark it, and use it as your first reference point whenever you have questions.
What is it for?
It is a platform that brings together the information you need in one easy to find place - no hunting across multiple systems. If you are already using our new Volunteer Management System (VMS), GoAssemble, you can access it via a direct link. SSAFAnet also automatically directs you there for many resources.
The content is accurate, regularly reviewed, and clearly written, so you can quickly find guidance, resources, and tools for your area of expertise helping you complete your work with confidence.
What information does it contain?
It provides specific information on individual SSAFA services and departments, as well as general information about SSAFA policies and volunteering. Here are some examples:
- [NEW] Draft Community Engagement Strategy Feedback Report
- Guides for branches
- Caseworking information
- Community engagement and fundraising resources
- Serving Community Teams resources
- NDP updates and videos
- GoAssemble support
There’s a lot more to explore as other SSAFA departments also provide information here (e.g. Learning and Development). You will also find general volunteering information, such as the volunteer handbook. Why not take a look and see what is available.
What about SSAFAnet?
SSAFAnet is gradually being phased out and the Volunteer Knowledgebase is your main hub for guidance, resources, and support. Most key SSAFAnet content has already been moved over, and the Volunteer Knowledgebase has a user-friendly search function to quickly find what you need. You don’t require an O365 account to access it as you do with SSAFAnet, so the information is available to all colleagues.
How to bookmark it in your browser
- Go to the Volunteer Knowledgebase.
- To the right of the address bar, click the star icon ☆ (or follow your browser’s usual bookmarking process).
- It should now appear in your bookmarks for easy access in the future.

Where can I get more information?
The NDP Frequently Asked Questions document covers a range of topics addressing questions raised during and since the trials.
The Volunteer Knowledgebase is accessible to all volunteers and employees and contains detailed information on processes and procedures for all volunteer activities.
NDP Information Hub on SSAFAnet and the NDP Information Hub on the Volunteer Knowledgebase both provide a variety of information on NDP – including caseworker feedback videos, Town Hall presentations, transition guidance and copies of past updates.
If you have further questions, please contact the NDP Project team: [email protected]*.
*For GoAssemble (GA) users, please copy and paste any email addresses supplied into a GA message to send a query.
Many thanks,
