Dear colleagues,

Focus: strengthening how we work together across SSAFA

The Network Delivery Project (NDP) is a key part of how we are transforming SSAFA to better support the broad needs of our armed forces community - central to this is how we are all working together by building new ways to collaborate, communicate and therefore strengthen relationships. Our joint efforts make a greater impact, thank you for being part of this.

Connected services for lifelong support

The NDP has focused on transforming casework delivery and branch operations. However, many of our beneficiaries require wide-ranging support, and SSAFA is uniquely positioned to meet these needs through its broad portfolio of services. For example, Serving Community Teams, Mentoring, Glasgow's Helping Heroes, Gurkha Welfare, Veterans in the Criminal Justice System, support groups, Short Breaks, Forcesline.

SSAFA’s ability to support individuals and families across the entire military lifecycle is one of our defining strengths. From enlistment through to civilian transition, and beyond, we provide consistent, compassionate support. This sets us apart from other charities and underpins our identity as the oldest tri-service charity for families - we will ensure greater awareness of these services and strengthen the connection between them.

Unified effort across all directorates

The success of the NDP so far is a testament to the collaborative effort of our SSAFA directorates and volunteer network - we thank all colleagues (volunteers and employees) for their continued help with this. Welfare Operations, Finance, Learning and Development, Fundraising, Marketing and Communications, IT, HR and others have come together to deliver this change programme. As we continue to roll out the NDP model across the country, this unified approach will ensure that local knowledge and national strategy work hand in hand.

‘One SSAFA’ – nationally connected, locally rooted

Collaboration strengthens our shared SSAFA identity both internally and externally. Whether you are helping one individual locally, supporting many across the country or providing an essential back-office function, your contribution is part of ensuring that SSAFA comes together to give the armed forces community the very best support that they deserve. Living the BRAVE Standards helps everyone at SSAFA share knowledge, work effectively and make a real impact on the lives of our Armed Forces, whenever they need it and wherever they live.
