Not all cautions and convictions will be disclosed during a criminal record check. There is guidance about what cautions and convictions will be removed, or “filtered”, from disclosure checks on the DBS website or mygov.scot.

Please note the level of check required for your role and consider if your check is likely to return information.

If you think that your check is likely to return information, please arrange a confidential conversation to discuss this further, or email [email protected].

SSAFA treats all Volunteer applicants fairly. If you have a criminal record, it won't necessarily stop you from becoming a Volunteer. We’ll consider each person’s circumstances individually.
