Why we want you
As a Lead Community Engagement Volunteer, you will guide and coordinate areas of the branch’s community engagement activities. You will support by planning what needs to happen, organising the people and steps involved, and helping to ensure activities are delivered smoothly. Through your support, the branch will be able raise local awareness of SSAFA and ensure we remain a trusted source of support for the Armed Forces Community.
What you will be doing
This role will provide support to the branch to coordinate, manage and organise community engagement activities within the branch.
This may involve:
- Working closely with the Branch exec team, Community Engagement volunteers and your regional Community Engagement Manager to develop and deliver branch vision and plans.
- Generating new ideas to engage and raise awareness in the local community, aligning with the branch’s vision and goals.
- Supporting a specific activity or area of community engagement and championing it from planning through to completion in cooperation with the Branch exec.
- Coordinating the delegation of tasks across the branch Community engagement team ensuring everyone knows what they are doing and has the support they need when directed by the Branch Exec.
- Share updates, successes, and learnings with the branch exec and regional team.
- Co-ordinating and attending Community Engagement events or stakeholder meetings as directed by the branch chair.
- Creating a welcoming, inclusive and diverse environment to ensure all volunteers feel valued and supported

- IT skills and Willingness to learn and use SSAFA systems, specifically our Volunteer Management System, GoAssemble
