Updated on

The below information was sent, via email to all volunteers and Welfare Operations employees across SSAFA, on 23 July 2026.

To: All volunteers and Welfare Operations employees

Dear colleagues,

We are pleased to share the first edition of Welfare Operations Quarterly Service Activity Report, brinign together highlights and service activity from across Welfare Operations up to 30 June 2026.

Welfare Operations delivers a range of integrated services that support beneficiaries through regional casework services, national specialist services, and branch-led community engagement.

Designed for all colleagues who are part of, or closely linked to Welfare Operations, this new quarterly report brings together highlights from across our Welfare Operations network, offering a glimpse into the wide range of support delivered for serving personnel, veterans and their families.

Inside this edition, you will find stories and updates from across our services, regions and teams, showing how different parts of the directorate come together to provide support and how community engagement connects with our wider welfare delivery.

We hope this report helps you see the wider picture of SSAFA’s work and the important role that all colleagues play in making this support possible. This is the first edition of the report, and we will continue to develop and improve it over time to ensure it remains useful and relevant. The report will be published quarterly, providing regular updates on activity across Welfare Operations. It is also available on the Volunteer Knowledgebase here for future reference.

Thank you for everything you do for the Armed Forces community.

Best wishes,

Lynne Doherty, Acting Director of Welfare Operations
